Thought Scrabble

This last bout with illness, I discovered a new remedy for chapped noses. Neosporin. I put it on my nose at night for the past few nights and it worked like a champ. Feels much better than lotion or vaseline and it really works. My nose is chap free and I have literally gone through two entire 112 count boxes of Kleenex in the past 4 days.

I need an eyebrow wax/shaping yesterday. I'm starting to resemble all of our favorite stars in the late 80's early 90's when nostalgia for cave dwelling days defined the brows of the people we emulated. Of course when I finally discovered eyebrow shaping I trusted the judgement of a woman who secretly hated me and what followed was the great eyebrow famine of 1999-2001. Fortunately I had a passport picture taken during this period so one can always remember. I can't believe I thought the change was subtle.

A favorite quote that comes to mind at this time of the month: Never trust anything that bleeds for 7 days and doesn't die.

And in other ladies news, there is a new tampon beyond super-plus. Now there is Ultra. I know, freakin' amazing. I'm not sure if it will change anyone's life (except mine) but it is interesting to me to think about tampon companies working on the next "big thing." With real scientists and everything. And yet every box I open still warns me about Toxic Shock Syndrome.

I often find myself watching back to back episodes of What Not To Wear on Friday nights and then going out on Saturday morning and realizing that like me, most people get dressed only so they won't be naked. My goal is to get to work without being arrested or making people sick in the street. If I didn't know her better, I would suspect my best friend's goal in getting me a box set of the show for Christmas was to encourage me to consider more than the laws against public nudity in my fashion choices. But I know she just got it for me because she knows I like the show. I'm sure of it. Really.

thanks for the neosporin tip. I'll have to give it a try the next time I have a cold. I'm in the same boat as you as far as eyebrows are concerened. I must get something done NOW!

I've found that Anastasia brow gel (tinted in a variety of tints for every hair color) works wonders & can make them look more defined and groomed even if you don't have time for a professional grooming appointment. It's pricey ($20 a tube at Sephora) but I've been using the same tube since January of this year and it's still going strong.

I like "What Not to Wear" too! Not that it has necessarily made me a better dresser, but I enjoy how the show examines people's own view of themselves in a mirror. IMO it's as interesting for the psychology of self-image as it is for basic fashion advice.
